This is the first visit planned for the trip, Maitland to meet Julie who has been a facebook friend for 3 years. How aweone was that!!!!

It was like we had known each other all our lives  haha Julez .... I couldn't get a word in edgeways lol sssshhhhh.
I was lucky enough to meet Suzie also, who was visiting from Melbourne, and Stephen is a great chef ☺
Got to sleep in a "real" bed and get my sheets washed. Shared lots of laughs.

Grand final weekend

Well what an interesting weekend.  Arrived in Ballina and went to Maccas for coffee, there was the grand final leadup and i had a front row seat 😀. Decided to head to the RSL and watch it on the big screen, which worked well until the 3rd quarter when the powers that be set up the chook raffle IN FRONT OF THE SCREEN!!!!!!  That got my get up and go going.  Long story short, when 9 of us moved our chairs and sat front and center they moved the raffle up the back. Win win.
On the road again Sunday and met some nice peope at Half way Creek camp spot. That one is worth a revisit..... lovely hot shower.
Monday found me rolling down the Pacific Highway looking for a free camp and finding none on the highway. Help was at hand soon enough though, 😁
a police man went past me then pulled off the road a bit along and pulled in behind me. Those red and blue lights are hard to miss, lol.
He didn't say why he pulled me over but I'll  bet he was suprised to see an old lady hehe. All good! He ask me how I was and I told him I would be better if I knew where I was. Little smarty told me I was on the Pacific Highway, haha. Told him I know that but where are the free camps I keep missing?
He checked the license and the back of the van (tobe sure I didn't lie when I said i was alone) lol. then he told me where to find the next freebe and said drive safe and have a good day.  Turned out the wind was gusty there so not much sleep.  Note to self ..... never camp right on a river.
