MY VAN

I was just going back through what I've shared on here and I noticed I haven't posted a photo of my ,now not so new, Van.

I was lucky enough to pick up a Commuter van which has more room and is standing height.  Certainly makes things more comfortable.

Thats the pre panels and all.

THE SILO TRAIL BENALLA

Day one found a silo and a great little river camp for the night.

This silo was  beautiful to see however the ones following were mind blowing, especially the Church with the painting of Sophie on the back wall.
Just outstanding.  I will upload the photos when I can get to them.

It was at this point that the trip became a worry!
Rained solid for three days just when I had my washing soaking. I am equipped for the cold but add rain to the mix and that is a different story. Time to hit the op-shops  whilst I wait to see if the sunshine was going to return.  Bargain Boots and a Coat made me a happy traveller.

Three wet days did it for me and the northbound highway was calling.

More to come along the way.  cheers Barb.

11/05/19 OFF TO MELBOURNE FOR MND GAME.

Time to start the trip south for the Queens Birthday Game a muchlooked forward to opportunity to raise fund for MotorNurone Desease. (photos to come)
Set off down the New England to meet up with Ann and Sandy in Shepperton where Sandy was waiting for a new Motor to be fitted.
Went for a day trip to Numerka for a look around and found a pop up AFL clearance store. Winning.   The repair was taking longer than expected so Ann and I headed to Mulwala toa great little free camp on the lake.

This is close to the start of the Murray Run as we nomads call the trip down the Murray  to it's source. The weather was perfect and the area peaceful and friendly. After a couple of weeks it was time to make my way south so I did the Silo Trail down to Benalla and wow was it worth the trip.

Bingara March 2019

Well! Time to head off and catch up with my Nomad friends again.
Had a good run but found out I came the long route. Still some interesting scene
Mt Lindsay

Had a nice drive and arrived in Bingara mid afternoon to find some of the other had already arrived and it was time for happy hour.  We had a few excellent happy hours with lots of laughs.

Happy hour couldn't dull the call of MAFS and the TV had a captive audience when it was on.

The river is running very low and nothing like it was in October. 2018 however, there was still enough to put the feet in to cool down.  Low enough to drive across this time.
Not much grass for the horses and it shows. A couple of the group bought some bales of hay for them but they could do with a lot more.

Lots happening at this camp, Chrisr showed us all how to make dampers and she did it very well. Once Scotty arrived with the pergola the camp fires really started happening. The camp oven cooking was something I had never seen before so it was a real education and easy when you know how. I even got the jaffle iron out.

We had a lesson or two on using Wiki Camps so I will know where I am going now before I leave home.

If you look along the river you will see where the camp is. A third of the way up on the left.

There were dogs galore and I must say I am cured of wanting to travel with a pet of any kind. Dogs are beautiful creatures but the unknown can happen when they are all strangers to each other.

It was lovely to meet up with old friends and meet new ones.

There were two hair dressers and I scored a great haircut by Kaye. As the camp wound down and our numbers dwindled we got to share some funny stories at the happy hour and got to see the real side of our travelers and what a blast it was. The Princess (Renae) was a laugh a minute and kept us out until 10pm on her last night in camp..

Well I am back in QLD for some car and self maintenance then I will decide whether I will go North or South. Mind you I still have to wait until August for my eyes to be done.

Cheers until my next adventure. Stay safe.

Week three Feb,

With the 50th party over it was time to hit the road again. I still have a few weeks before the Specialist
Got to Balina to find the Camp is closed so the Service Centre can be constructed. I decided to take a drive up to Woodenbong and check out the camp ground there.
Found it is just so serene and at $5 a night and hot showers available, I thought it would be a nice place to settle in for a month.  The serenity came to a quick end on Friday morning when 15 CMCA members arrived for a weekend meet up. I would estimate there were nine dogs in the group and they all tried to be the only one to be heard.
Went for a nice stroll into town for a look around, it was easier coming back than going in up a slight rise.

Saw a couple of  nice firey suns, however, try as I might I couldat capture a good photo.  I have a couple which were too dark for what I wanted.

fireball sun

It has been a relaxed week just chillin' and watching movies. Not much else to do
with a cyclone just up the road.

Cheers until next time.

February 2019.

February has been another month of sitting around waiting however I now have a date from the hospital for my eyes so the waiting is almost over.
Still in party mode, Finley's has gone and the 50th is this weekend followed by the engagement next weekend, then look out Australia I will be on my way to somewhere.Took advantage of the time and had the carpet ripped out of the van and rubber like flooring boards put in. Much better for health and cleaning.

The heat has been very intense since before Christmas and hopefully it is about to get cooler.

cheers

Kids are so cute. January 2019

It is that time of the year when the littlies either love or hate it.
First one loved school and can't wait to get on the bus to go again.

Next one said "I'm not going in there, lets go home. I'm too young for this I need to be ten."  She did have a good day in the end.

Report on the third one at the weekend I hope.
Well all is good he loved it ,

Here's wishing them all a peaceful and productive schooling.
cheers.

A summary of 2018.

Well the year that was !!!!!!!
First of all I have to say the footy that I got to see was spectacular and Lilliah got to meet the boys again.
Her highlight was finding herself on every Collingwood fc social media page, along with Taylor Adams. This is the photo.

had a couple of trips to Victoria which sorted out a few things but had to comeback for the eye specialist for whom I am still waiting.
October 2018 I said goodbye to a very special brother I hope we don’t  go there again for a while.
My be'oved  magpies got into the Grand Final but sadly I co;dnt be at the G to watch them.

I met up with some new friends at Bingara and learned that strangers are just friends you haven't met. We had an awesome week which was extended to three weeks. Beautiful spot on the river with horses wandering through the campsite day and night. I will try to upload some photos soon.

The planned trip to the outback didn’t happen but it was a great Christmas with my beautiful family.

I had a few special weekends at Kingscliffe, a beautiful place to rest up.

Yep

EBOR FALLS NSW.

I had a great Christmas with my family and a fantastic New Year with good friends.

I promise I will keep the blog pretty much up to date for 2019

Cheers. Barb.
