Found one near Whittlesea Vic. but didnt find Mt Dissapointment. Time to enlist the help of my group so I made enquiries on the site and had a reply from the gorgeous Barbara with an offer to camp on their 20 acre rasberry farm. It is situated on top of the ridge with magic views.
Daylight was fading fast so off I go to find it!
I arrives to a warm welcome and felt peaceful and safe from the onset.
What a beautiful place to visit! There are King Parrots galore and lots of other birds who eat out of your hand.
There were even some Kangaroos.
Such a serene setting and I planned to stay a week. My hosts Barb and Chris are beautiful people and I will be doing a return visit.
Nothing stays the same and that goes for perfect camp sites too.
We had strong winds on the second night followed by set in rain. The cold I can handle but when it comes with rain on top of a mountain, that is a receipe for sleet and that is just what we got. I was invited in to share the nice warm fire but I was already settled into my cozy bed so there I stayed.
Saturday I got a call from Tracy to say they were coming my way in the next day or so and were going to head north in search of warmer weather, well!!!! How could I resist the urge to tag along.
Sunday arrived and I was up early to pack up, you wouldnt believeit, the sun was shining brightly. It wasnt shining enough to change my plans to meet Tracy and Phil at the Wandong Service Centre so I set to work packing a wet, muddy camp and headed off down the mountain with a promise to return.
A big thank you to Barb and Chris and I wish them well in their venture for campers.
